When we say rebellion, who rebel against what? What is the exact meaning of rebellion that we see in the Bible? This is the question that will arise automatically. When we say rebellion, the exact meaning is rebel against Living God. The first rebellion occurred when God’s highest angel Lucifer became jealous and betrayed God (Is.14:12-16). Next rebellion occurred when Adam and Eve, the most precious creation, the only one created by transferring His living soul betrayed God (Gen. 3:6).
What we are trying to say is the contemporary rebellion of Christian world against Jesus Christ. We are going to look at how this rebellion was started, how this dark age of rebellion camouflaged all the Christians today and how this rebellion provokes God’s anger.
In Thessalonians second, verses two, Apostle Paul said, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; here let us remember the word first. Then, he said, “And that man of sin is revealed.” It is obvious that apostasy will come first before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Apostle gave warning to all Christians that we should not be misled by apostasy by pointing out “Let no man deceives you by any means!” As we previously said, the word ‘First’ is very important because of two things, before His second coming, Apostasy will occur and the ‘Wicked one’ will appear. That is what we would like to reiterate because many Christians are going to be deceived and fooled. When we heard, “Let no man deceive you by any means,” men comprising theologian, spiritual man, missionary, evangelist, pastor, church elders, or even an angel might try to beguile you, avoid them and turn your back on them. You must give priority to the word of God to the word of your most trusted ones.
“You will see the awful horror, spoken by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (understand what this means)” (Matt. 24:15). Jesus, when he lived with his disciples, foretold the events which will occur on this very earth before His second coming. He said, “But will the Son of man find faith on earth when he comes?” On the other hand, Prophet Daniel said, “And for the overspreading of abomination he shall make it desolate.” The apostasy which precedes the arrival of the wicked one that we see in the Bible implied none other than Christians, not the devotees of other faiths. It is a big and terrifying apostasy church who claims themselves the follower of Jesus Christ. This apostasy church as the Revelation 17:2 says, “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
